Our Mission
The Lowcountry Harvest of Love Ministry (LHLM), Inc. is a Christian humanitarian organization helping children, families and their communities overcome poverty. Our services include quality meals, educational sponsorships, and support to the community. We also provide holiday gifts to the children. We exist purely to develop extraordinary leaders in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Haiti, and Honduras.
To cultivate a thriving community where sustainability meets compassion, D&S Plantation and LHLM unite to nurture growth—both in the garden and in life. Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to provide not only fresh, nutritious produce from D&S's sustainable gardens but also the nourishment of educational and humanitarian support to families and children in need. Our joint mission is rooted in creating a green space that extends beyond the soil to reach hearts across Costa Rica, Ecuador, Haiti, and Honduras. Together, we strive to develop extraordinary leaders and foster a spirit of environmental stewardship, all underpinned by a commitment to overcoming poverty and enhancing community well-being.
Our Impact
Religious Classes
At all events, provide religious classes and nutritional meals.
Sponsorship
Provide tuition sponsorship for 46 - 56 students, $25 per student, to the school of attendance.
Donations
Our organization donates school supplies to at least 150 children.
Vacation Bible School
For more than 500 children, we conducted a hands-on Vacation Bible School offering life skills instruction.
Children Toys
A minimum of 300 children receive Christmas toys from us.
Historical Trips
Sponsored children can participate in historical tours during spring break.
Mother's Day
Organize Mother's Day celebrations for the sponsored children.
Student Classes
We will conduct classes in the following areas throughout the summer months: History, Economics, Government, Community Services, Agriculture/Nutrition, and Social Activities.
Tuition Assistance
A mission house is being built for the headquarters of LHLM.
Our Vision
After returning from a mission trip to Haiti, where Deacon Sammie Brown, saw children unable to go to school. He felt inspired to help even more.
Sammie Brown, was the driving force behind Lowcountry Harvest of Love Ministry, Inc. (LHLM).
The sponsorship program was started in 2015 to meet the financial obligations of educating Haitian children. Thus, tuition and school supplies were provided through LHLM, and parents were overjoyed.
He worked tirelessly for the benefit of Haiti's children. Deacon Sammie Brown aligned himself with nine Haitian churches in order to achieve his goal of creating and maintaining consistent support.
Since April 2017, it has been the passion of Deacon Brown to uplift the children of Haiti. As a God given gift to the impoverished children, he wanted to continue the services that were initialed. Veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the US Army for 24 years, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Following his career in the Army, his love for children led him to teach high school JROTC for 20 years.
