COVID-19 in Haiti
COVID-19 could further destabilize Haiti.

COVID-19 could further destabilize Haiti.

There are raised concerns about COVID-19 spreading in countries like Haiti that are already struggling with humanitarian issues. In the last few weeks, tens of thousands Haitian workers have returned from the Dominican Republic to their own country, many bringing the virus with them. That flow of returnees is expected to spark an outbreak that the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere will be unable to fight.

LHLM provided some of the necessary equipment and food to help prevent the spread of the virus. Each family received mask for all members,  and a special bucket for washing their hands. Each family was given food supplies for approximately two weeks. Classes was conducted on how to sanitize the hands and the symptoms of the virus.
